I’m Kira and I love fabric and clothing – not necessarily fashion and the fashion industry, but more an individual’s way of expressing themselves through what they wear. I also love Burlesque, Drag, and all things Cabaret. As a performer myself I know that designing for stage can be very different to designing for everyday life and the function of something can be as important as the visual impact. I often refer to what I do as engineering in fabric and I find it an exciting challenge to take a flat piece of fabric and work out ways to manipulate the cloth around an individual body. Every body is different so every garment is a new challenge
I have a degree in Fashion Design and have been performing as a Burlesque dancer for nearly 6 years.
And just in case you’re wondering, I’m queer-friendly, trans-friendly and neurodivergent-friendly.
